Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.
A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
These detentions follow a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
